Building altars has become a creative practice that I love. I love to improvise as I create an altar, flowing with what I feel drawn to in the moment, whether that is a stone, a quote I find in a book, a piece of art I made that is particularly resonant for me, candles, sentimental objects or anything else I feel inspired to mix in. I choose a theme for every altar I create and then gather with that theme in mind. Each altar becomes a focal point, a place of reverence, a collection of sacred objects that hold meaning for me. Building an assemblage of sacred objects held by an altar cloth which gives it structure, gives me visual inspiration, support, hope, joy and encouragement when I need it.
