Contemplative Assemblages
I love to gather things together, set them side by side, lay something on top of something else and then pause and just look…something compels me to do this and it feels so lovely, so engaging and so intriguing to me. I begin to notice poetic connections between the objects I’m drawn to that stir something inside me. I ponder what these objects are, where they came from, how I’m connected to them and how beauty seems to guide me to certain compositions. The process feels meditative, slow, mindful and reverent.
To be honest, I don’t really know what to call these because they feel like tactile meditations, many are impermanent and only last a little while before I move the materials around again. “Assemblage” is an art term that seems to fit, so I went with that for the time being.
